Common Condition
Expert diagnosis and minimally invasive treatment in Dallas, Texas.
Spinal stenosis means the tunnel inside your spine gets too narrow and squeezes the nerves that run through it. It usually happens slowly as you get older from arthritis or thickened ligaments. Most people feel it in the lower back or neck.
Symptoms may vary depending on the location and severity of the condition:
Reduced strength in the legs that makes balance or stair climbing difficult.
Dull ache in the lower back that may radiate into the thighs.
Pins-and-needles sensation in the legs, feet, or buttocks.
Leg pain, cramping, or heaviness that worsens with standing or walking and improves when sitting or leaning forward.
